'This Is...MY CHOICE!!!'

Ha! I won! I get to choose what the next 'This is...' topic will be. The last thing I won was an Adam Ant calendar circa 1982! Thanks Angela!
The options I put forward were either 'This is ...my fave colour combination' or 'This is... the contents of my handbag' , now after ooh about 3 seconds of deliberation, I've plumped for
'This is.......The Contents of my Handbag!'
Did I ever mention I'm a nosey so and so......?!

Now on a totally unrelated note: does anyone have any top tips for stitching jersey? My machine has decided to skip stitches on the most lovely polyester jersey trousers that I'm shortening, they have mesh panels- I'll not inflict further description on you. Well, I think I've got the right needle in, a nice new one. Maybe my machine is just objecting to man-made fibres!

Love your choice for This is ........... this week.

I think for working with jersey you need a ball point needle not a sharp one. Also set your stich to a slight zig-zag to allow for strech in the fabric. Appologies if you already know all of this.

yeahhh a good choice....now i need to clean my bag haha....i carry so much rubbish around!!
i think with Jersey you need to stretch as you sew so pull from the back...im no sewing expert though...

Ok , I have a few days to go and clean out my handbag before I post its contents.
No help at all with jersey - a ballpoint needle I think?

This comes from the SCHMETZ needle company.

JERSEY use BALL POINT #70 or #80 or STRETCH #75 or #90.

Also a good quality thread, the same in needle and bobbin. Use a walking foot if you have one.

Just suggestions, but they may help. I teach sewing at a patchwork store so don't work with jersey fabric often. Hope you suceed.

Great 'This is.........', I don't think my handbag contents are very interesting, just the necessities.

My machine does exactly the same when I try to do fake coverstitch,I'd go with the ball point option.I do love knowing the contents of other people's fridges, cupboards, handbags cant wait! Good choice Sharonetta!
