Continuing the Eye Spy game started by Bug and Pop....
2008 was the year of camping, (in a tent- not the Julian Clary variety of camp you understand...)
Very, very wet and windy camping, not once, not twice but thrice. Hardcore!!
2008: The great British summer. The year of playing on the beach in a fleece. With my trousers rolled up. I'm just sooo English.
2008: The year we all turned 40 together, 19 years after we turned 21 together.

At least this time we didn't celebrate with a night out that ended with 'sleeping' in Victoria Train Station. In March. I say sleeping, really it was shivering with your eyes shut. Yes, it was cold, so cold I still remember it 20 years later!
Ladies, here's to another 20 years of inappropriate nights out!
And at least I've stopped being annoyed at being 40, I'm far too pissed off at being 41 soon to worry about it!

Brighton pier! Yay! and THREE times camping in 2008! That certainly is hardcore - looks like you've had a great year!
Hope you have loads of fun in 2009 - Happy New Year!
Sounds like a good year full of fun.
I hit 41 in 2008 and still don't quite know how it happened! I totally understand where you are coming from! It's so nice to celebrate with the friends of your 21st! Nothing better.
Exactly, Brighton pier! If it's any consolation, I am older than you. ...stop laughing dammit!! However, it's only biological age and you can still lie brazenly about your age and say you're 25. Only your family and friends won't believe you. Everyone else, you're in with a chance!
Not acting your age helps. Also calling your own kids 'mum' - even if they do look at you strangely.
Calling the kids 'Mum'! New and inventive ways of embarrassement, I like it! A LOT!!
Yep, you sure are hardcore, that kind of camping , in that kind of weather, is truly my idea of torture!!!! The idea of turning 40 with old friends does sound rather nice though. Happy New Year - hope 2009 is a cracker :D
Loving the mum comment, so going to use that one!
As for being forty, it's a bittersweet celebration isn't it? So much to look back on and be thankful for, while trying to remember where you left your keys/marbles/the kids/the previous decade...
you all look so young...not that 40 is old ofcourse...im 2yrs away from it!
hey did you know ive never ever been camping! its on the list to do...looks like fun!
Hey you. Sorry to muck you about but due to general confusion I have changesd the swap to a more straight forward mug swap. Hope you are still up for it!
I so understand the "41" club..I'll be there too! (We were commenting on each others blog's this time last year!) but we have made it and it doesn't feel too bad...Have a great year regardless...and just keep on celebrating!!
